Terms of Service and Participant Agreement

Welcome to the Global Youth Excellence & Leadership Program (GYEL). By accessing or participating in the program, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Agreement”). Please read these terms carefully before submitting your application or participating in the program.

 

1. Program Overview

GYEL is a virtual educational initiative under the auspices of intergovernmental organizations, permanent observers, and non-governmental organizations associated with the United Nations system. The program is designed to foster leadership, critical thinking, and an understanding of global challenges among youth.

2. Eligibility

Participants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in middle or high school (grades 6–12) or equivalent international levels.
  • Submit a complete application, including all required documents.
  • Obtain parental or guardian consent if under 18 years of age.

3. Participant Obligations

By participating in GYEL, you agree to:

  • Abide by all program rules, guidelines, and instructions.
  • Conduct yourself professionally and respectfully during all program activities.
  • Avoid any form of discrimination, harassment, or disruptive behavior.

4. Application Process

Applicants must provide accurate and complete information. Submission of false, misleading, or incomplete information may result in disqualification from the program. GYEL reserves the right to reject any application at its sole discretion.

5. Payment Terms

  • Program Fee: Payments are non-refundable once made, except as specified under the Refund Policy.
  • All fees must be paid in U.S. dollars unless otherwise specified.

6. Refund Policy

GYEL offers a flexible refund policy as follows:

  • Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days after the program’s last day.
  • Refunds will not exceed the amount paid by the participant.
  • GYEL reserves the right to deny refunds for failure to comply with the program’s rules or for dismissals due to misconduct.

7. Intellectual Property

All materials, content, and resources provided during the program are the intellectual property of GYEL and its affiliates. Participants may not copy, distribute, or use these materials for any purpose outside the program without prior written consent.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • GYEL is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in the program.
  • Participants assume all risks associated with the use of online platforms and technology.

9. Indemnification

Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless GYEL, its affiliates, and staff from any claims, damages, or liabilities resulting from their participation in the program, including but not limited to:

  • Breach of these Terms.
  • Misuse of program resources.
  • Actions taken by participants during or after the program.

10. Dispute Resolution

  • Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall first be resolved through good faith negotiations.
  • If negotiations fail, disputes will be subject to binding arbitration under the rules of [Insert Arbitration Body].
  • All arbitration proceedings shall be conducted in [Insert Location].

11. Class Action Waiver

Participants agree to resolve any disputes on an individual basis. No class actions or group arbitrations are permitted.

12. Program Modifications

GYEL reserves the right to:

  • Modify program details, including schedule, content, and instructors, without prior notice.
  • Suspend or terminate the program in cases of force majeure or unforeseen circumstances.

13. Privacy Policy

GYEL values your privacy and complies with applicable data protection laws. By submitting your application, you consent to the collection and use of your information as outlined in our Privacy Policy [Insert Link].

14. Code of Conduct

Participants must adhere to the program’s Code of Conduct, which prohibits:

  • Plagiarism or academic dishonesty.
  • Harassment, bullying, or offensive behavior.
  • Unauthorized recording or distribution of program sessions.

Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in immediate dismissal without refund.

15. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Insert Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law principles.

16. Miscellaneous

  • Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
  • Entire Agreement: This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between GYEL and participants, superseding any prior agreements or communications.

By applying to and/or participating in the Global Youth Excellence & Leadership Program, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.
